Brent crude inch higher to $61.95/bbl

Crude oil prices rose Rs 12 to Rs 5,252 per barrel in futures trade as participants increased their positions following a firm spot demand.

Crude oil for January delivery traded higher by 0.23 per cent in 17,821 lots. Analysts said the rise of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in futures trade.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude was trading 0.02 per cent higher at $58.17 per barrel, while Brent crude rose 0.02 per cent to $61.95 per barrel in New York.
